QuokkaPix

Remove EXIF

Remove EXIF and location data before publishing

Use this tool when a photo may contain GPS coordinates, camera details, editing software, author fields or other hidden metadata. JPEG, PNG and WebP metadata-only cleanup removes supported metadata without re-encoding pixels; visual edits and format conversion use the normal browser export path.

FAQ

Are photos uploaded to clean EXIF?

No. Metadata inspection and cleanup run locally in the browser.

Does metadata cleanup change image pixels?

For metadata-only JPEG, PNG and WebP cleanup, QuokkaPix removes supported metadata containers without re-encoding the image pixels. Other edits and format conversion create a normal exported copy.

Can visible private information be removed automatically?

No. Metadata cleanup does not remove faces, addresses, license plates or text that are visible in the pixels.

Metadata checks that matter

Metadata checks before export

1
Check whether GPS/location data is present before removing metadata.
2
Decide whether dates, camera data, software/editor fields, author/copyright and technical fields should also be removed.
3
Remember that visible private information inside the pixels is not anonymized by metadata cleanup.

Lossless cleanup scope

1
For JPEG, PNG and WebP metadata-only runs, QuokkaPix removes supported metadata containers without re-encoding image pixels.
2
If you crop, convert, add effects or make another visual edit, the output is a normal browser export.
3
Keep a private source copy when provenance, audit history or future editing matters.
