How to remove background from product photos without sending files away

Use this when you need a clean product cutout for a catalog card, marketplace listing or ad asset. The goal is a clear subject, honest edges and the right export format.

Recommended flow

1
Start with the cleanest source photo you have. Product shots with clear separation and low edge blur work best.
2
Open Background in Remove mode and let the first preview finish. Then inspect thin edges, caps, handles and shadows before exporting.
3
If you need a solid listing look, switch to Replace after the AI cutout is ready and set a neutral color or background image.
4
Export transparent results as PNG or WebP. Use JPG only after you intentionally place a non-transparent background.

What to watch

Leave a little space around the object so the cutout is not fighting the frame edges.
Soft even light usually gives cleaner edges than hard flash or strong reflections.
Keep one master transparent file and derive white or branded background versions from it.

FAQ

Why does the cutout look worse on busy backgrounds?

Complex textures, reflections and motion blur make separation harder. A cleaner source photo usually improves the result more than any export tweak.

Which format should I save?

PNG or WebP for transparency. JPG only when the background is already filled.
